Interesting bullet path in this guy....
When I 1/4'd this, the round clipped the rear of the right scapula and entered the thoracic cavity - no exit wound. When I pulled the loins, there was hemorrhaging around the loins, kidneys and ventral side of the spine. I noticed a little bit of blood right at the hip socket but didn't think much of it.
As my wife was boning out the left rear 1/4, she pulled this out of the seam between the hammy and quad.
the bullet, 100 gr Federal Trophy Copper .25-06 crashing through shoulder, traveling the length of the body cavity, must have clipped a vertebrae on the way, and ending up barely just below the hip ball socket, resting against the femur - basically mushroomed perfectly with very little loss of mass.
I've had this .25-06 for a few years now and have been impressed with this factory load so far, my Ruger lefty seems to like it.....
I'm not much of a bullet geek, but this interested me.............
