Hey all,
Just left active duty in New Mexico at the beginning of the year and came up here to finish going to school at MSU. I am in the Air National Guard in Great Falls now so I have already met loads of awesome people here. I am from Oregon originally and have hunted mule deer and Elk there and in NM. (and some stand hunting in Texas....gross). I have been exploring the state and trying to figure out some places close to home to hunt Elk and deer. Any/all advice for a new Montana hunter would be accepted graciously! Right now I am getting prepped for a solo backpack hunt in the Helena National Forest.
