Really nice bull, and awesome work on the skull! You boil and peroxide it, or some other type of whitener? Any tricks on keeping the nasal bones intact?

Congratulations! I've been putting in for that tag for a long time, one of the coolest looking critters out there.

The meat is great, very mild. Seems to be very tender for a mature bull. Probably gonna be rationing steaks to make them last.

I cleaned the skull with the cold water maceration technique. I’ve had good results as long as the water is warm, this one took about 2 weeks with only 1 water change.

Congrats. It's amazing how hunting can make us positive in some pretty bad situations. Hunting friends are the best as well.

Awesome bull. That is one thing that I miss about New Mexico. I shot three, while I lived there. I don't think there is better meat on this planet.
