I was looking at some of those crappy Styrofoam targets in Wal-Mart the other day for about $15, and thought it might make an acceptable broadhead target. Anybody ever use them for that? I know a couple guys that just use a big block of Styrofoam for broadheads.

6"-9" of plain cardboard will serve just as well & can be picked up from any recycle bin for $0.00 ! If you can put an arrow deep, or through, 9" of stacked cardboard....you're Golden come hunting season.

If you have a local tractor supply company, they use a very dense styrofoam to hold up the tongues of the trailers they have in the parking lots. They usually have stacks of them out by the trailers or behind the building and from my experience will give them away for free when asked.

They will take hits with broad heads but since its foam it will degrade pretty quickly. I remember having to unscrew broad heads from the back of the target, removing the arrow, then screwing them back on
