That's funny about the decoys. My lab does that too. The first few outings every year he just goes nuts.

Nothing wrong with staking a dog. I used a 2' section of rope and one of these clipped to his collar.

There is no joy more pure than a gun dog on opening day, especially if he goes a little nuts.
