NW Oregon Coast Range Trail Cam Pics

went for a hike with my girlfriend back in the 1st few days of June to one of my favorite spots to hang a camera for the summer months, with bow season less than 2 weeks away i went and pulled the camera Monday, after a review the elk found my camera and seem fascinated with it and where able to move my camera an inch or 2 to the right of my original set up on a small creek crossing in the bottom of a small valley type canyon. every time the elk came through the would lick it smell it nudge it with there noses no matter which way they were going on the trail, the elk were able to move the camera because i wasn't able to find a suitable tree,they were either to big for the strap or the angles were all wrong in the end it was part of a broke tree i put the camera and because the surface wasn't totally flat the elk were able to play with it and move it around ,which i believe prevented me from getting to see all the elk that crossed on the trail during the summer, but even with the elk moving the camera as much as they did it still captured some amazing photos i was quite happy with and just wanted to share with the hunttalk crew, the first few pics looks like its a rainy wet day , i later was able to figure out that's because the camera was covered in elk slobber .... ha ha ha, every time the elk would bee line straight to the camera, these are a few of the highlights

the dates on the camera are incorrect, the 17th dec to jan 1 would have been around JULY 11th to around july 26th or 27th , never set it to correct month, going after roosevelt elk and blacktails again this season, but i always buy a cougar tag just in case so i always can have one in my pocket, the season for cougars here is year round since the people of this state voted to disallow dogs for hunting cougs years ago, my buddy john and i talked today about going in that area after all the deer and elk seasons are over in the early winter and taking a fox pro call up there and see if we pull off a miracle and get him to come in .

here is the 3 mystery pics from the summer after my friends and i have looked it over many times we think its an OWL that came down to get a rodent of some type. but who knows post any thoughts you have , in the first pic in the bottom right you can clearly see 2 triangle looking ear shapes on top of head as animal enters from behind the came the the second pic half of it is in camera view as ears are now laid back the 3rd pic its leaving abruptly to the left , to me it look like the flap of wings but its hard to tell

That top mystery pic could be the Batman. Awesome shots. Pretty cool to get that wide a variety.
