Thinking about going with one of these with the ballistic Firedot reticle for my 30-06...anybody have any experience with the VX-R line of scopes? Is the glass the same quality as the VX3i line of scopes? Thanks

It is my understanding the 3i's have a more sophisticated coating with improved twilight performance, abrasion resistance...etc. Have a few VX3i on other rigs but can't discern substantial differences. The 5 & 6HD's are another story.

Thanks, I may try one out...I'd love to swing for the VX5 but the VXR is a little more in my price range

I have one in tmr reticle. I was under the impression it was vx3 glass but maybe not. Im still not sold on turrets but otherwise I like it very well.

It's an excellent tool for it's price point. Schmalts is the guy for glass value.
