Triggers are pulled; NEVER squeezed.

I think you are getting caught up on the semantics, especially since you will notice I use the word "pull" in the post. Inasmuch as squeezing or pulling is interpreted as not using the distal phalanx to effectuate a constant motion back towards the shooter, then that should definitely be corrected.
 
The rifle that taught me how to shoot was my flintlock. It has a long lock-time and keeping yourself composed when you the pan goes off in front of your face takes control. One of the most rewarding comments I had was when I had a missfire and one of the guys behind me commented "he definitely does not flinch".
