Every year we head down and fish the upper Columbia for summer run and some sockeye if open. We hooked 22 fish in 3 hours on the opener and they decided to open the dam and ruined fishing rest of the day.. next am we lost 2.

Looks like you have that fishery all figured out. Nothing fills out a freezer full of venison better than a few salmon fillets.

Nice work! I’d love to hit up them west coast rivers for trout and salmon!

Nice catch.
Can you satisfy my curiosity though, unless I'm seeing things I can't see any adipose fin's on any of those Salmon, why is that?
Thanks
Richard

Congratulations on some great fish and family time!

Richard, depending on the location, many of the steelhead and salmon fisheries only allow keeping hatchery fish which are marked by a clipped adipose fin. The wild fish have to be released.

Thanks for that, it makes sense.

Cheers

Richard
