Sitka Gear Turkey Tool Belt

Getting lots of ticks/mites during the fall in Idaho. Am I the only one?

I never really thought that permethrin was working because I had ticks and sometimes chiggers crawling on me as well, especially while turkey hunting. Then, early this summer I went scouting for deer season with a buddy. We mainly walked trails, a little tall grass, and picked some blackberries along the way. I had 0 bites and he was covered in chigger bites. That was proof enough for me to keep treating everything. I can handle them crawling on me if nothing is latching on.

Another thing you can try is sulpher. I used to work in a farm store and we sold sulpher licks yo keep bugs off cattle. I used to break chunks off a lick them or eat tiny pieces. It works well to keep mosquitos and horse flies off. I never had a tick or chigger bite either when I was doing it. The better route would be to ask a doc about sulfer tablets. I personally liked it better than coating myself in oily pesticides.
