I was looking at a walk in hunting map for Oklahoma today and noticed a whole bunch of color on the map out in the panhandle.

It appears that Oklahoma now has quite a bit of walk in hunting for archery hunting antelope, appx 22,000 acres. The seasons are kind weird that archery is after most of the gun hunting but for those who live in Oklahoma this is a unique opportunity. Figured I would share in case anyone was interested.

Also appears Oklahoma is trying to add more walk in land primarily for archery and shotgun hunting. Article on program.

I assume the National Grassland would be open, as well.

I don't think so. I believe that the grassland is part of the very limited draw the state does.

Odds are terrible. In 2016 the Cimmaron county had 4,000 applicants for 20 tags. Texas country had 3,300 for 5 tags.

This is really a unique opportunity for residents to go hunt antelope for $50, and arguably one of the best public hunting opportunities in the state for big game.

Great to see stuff like this available.

You have both Rita blanca to hunt and all the added OLAP land.
Flat, but doable.....
I drew the doe rifle tag last year.

I'll be out there early Oct chasing them OTC with my bow!
