I drew an archery mule deer tag for units 35, 36, 45, and 361. I am from WI and this is my first time hunting out west. I am wondering if anyone had archery hunted these units before and have any tips on how to get away from people and find deer, or if anyone has any general tips for a first time western hunter. Any tips will help greatly and be much appreciated!

I don't have any hunting tips to give (I'm a newb), but that area of Colorado has some AMAZING backcountry hikes. Spent quite a bit of time around Mt. of the Holy Cross and around Red Cliff. Every time we are backpacking in Colorado, away from people and roads, we have seen wildlife.
If I had that tag I'd start looking in 45 and 36 and look for some high alpine lakes to hike into that are maybe 5 miles round trip or more.. can get some fishing in while I was at it.

Google "CO hunt atlas", watch the tutorial video, use the summer range option, hunt the pink areas away from roads.
