On second thought, the story was entirely lacking in the requisite prologue about permits arriving, workouts, and your overall obsession with preparing yourselves. Please up your game

Nice bears! Congrats to the both of you.
We were just in SE Alaska on a cruise touring the coast and most of the guides there said the bear weren't active yet. Obviously your hunt tells a different story so just curious how active the bear were for you guys or if you felt you really had to search hard for them? All of the locals we talked to said the bear dont get active until the salmon start spawning.
