Had a great day on the lake today, barely got the bass limit (1 LM, 4 SM), but walleye were going crazy. I landed 29 walleye and lost another 5 or 6. Not much in terms of size, the vast majority were in the 15-16" range, but I kept culling and ended up with 4 in the 18-20" range. I actually "landed" another walleye about 20", but I didn't realize there was a hole in my net and he slid right back into the lake! Last year the bass and walleye were really liking a crawfish colored bomber, but this year the water is clearer (no runoff to speak of) and they are preferring a silver/blue rapala. I did catch a couple of bass on topwater, and lost another one or two; first topwater bite of the year for me.
