Had a great hike to the Channels state forest in Washington co Va the other day. Really cool place. It's a 6.5 mile round trip hike with 1280 ft elevation gain to the top. It's a 400 million year old sandstone outcrop that was formed from the last ice age. We were very surprised how big it was. It was like being in a cave on top of a mountain. I highly recommend anyone in the area check it out. You can get directions to the trail head with a google search. Really neat place. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. Next time we will bring a good camera for sure.

It's an awesome hike. Also here is another one it's about 12-14 not much elevation change. Hit the trailhead at hidden valley lake hike across top to channels and back down to channels parking area. Gotta have a ride stashed or someone to pick you up on other end of hike
Yes me and my buddy Johnny we walleye fished with are planning that one but going to start at route 80 and hike to hidden valley and camp and fish that night. If your interested ill text you when we get it planned.
