Your spring bear(s) down. How would you describe the surroundings for your bears? Feed? Sprouts, burn, stumps, shale - scree slope, drainage, east/west/south... Even north facing?

You get bonus points for pics worth a thousand words.

Quadruple points for long/lat - topos of y'er honey holes for deer, elk, gophers, grayling, fountain of youth and the $ tree. To collect your quad points you must pm. :)

Myself? I've been an opportunistic fall bear hunter during deer/elk season in MT and a rookie spring hunter so I have little to share though big eyes to read what you've experienced.
 
Little sprouting grass = further bear travel or more stump/rock searching?
