Got the first one of the spring last weekend

On the board in NC. Last Sunday morning called in a hen and two gobblers into a small isolated field and shot the strutter about 7 am. A pretty good turkey for around here. 20+ pounds, 10.5 " thick beard and 1 1/8" spurs.

That's a thick beard. Where at in NC? I have a buddy with a 200ac farm in Hyde County, haven't hunted it for about 6 years. He says birds are low this year.

.....and finished early enough to not to be late for church!

Halifax County, about 75 minutes NE of Raleigh.
