Hello everyone,

I am considering a Kimber Montana in 30/06. I was just wondering if anyone here has any experience with one in this caliber. It is a lightweight 30/06, and was wondering what the recoil is like in a rifle of this weight. I am not particularly recoil-sensitive. I’m guessing with a Leupold 2.5-8 scope, mounts, and fully loaded, it should finish out around 7 pounds. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have a hunter in 30-06 and love it. The recoil is not that bad. Mine weighs 7.1lbs with scope, rings, sling and 3 rounds of ammo.

Thank You Southern Elk. I was looking at the Kimber Hunter as well. How does your hunter feed from the box magazine?

I realize you said in 30-06 but I have it in a .300 WSM and the recoil is not at all bad.
