I'm not a new turkey hunter but this would be my first spring turkey hunting in Idaho. I'm from the Boise area but have no clue where to even look for turkeys. Not interested in GPS coordinates or anything, just an idea where to get started within a couple hours of Boise so I don't spend too many weekends on mountains with no birds.

Call the biologists at fish and game and the state director of NWTF. They will put you on some.

You know, I always tell people to do that when they say they're gonna hunt an area for the first time, but I never thought to do that while I'm living in the state I hunt in. Just had the light bulb go off over my head.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Gonna get to some e-scouting with Google and OnX.
