WY Season Dates

Hey all. I was just checking out the opening dates for a couple of units I'm looking to apply for this year and figured I'd pose the question to you. I'm used to opening dates being the same across a state (deer season in ND and WI) and am curious to know why all the different start dates? I've been researching unit 21, which starts around 10/15 and there are other units that open up in August. Anyone know why that is?

Additionally, I'm going to add my request to the billions of others on here that if anyone is interested in sharing information on 21 I'd love a PM. If not, my feelings won't be hurt.

It’s based off the recommendations from the Biologist who works the area. There may be to many and they need to open up different to help manage the objectives for that particular area. If you haven’t talked to the area biologist you should. They are a great wealth of knowledge and IMHO very under appreciated given the constraints they have to deal with.

Also, with so many huntable species in Wyoming, it helps if not all have the same exact season dates. One of several factors I'm sure.

That makes total sense. I think I'm just used to different areas adding seasons to what has always been the set season instead of changing the actual season to earlier/later. In WI we just add T-zone, holiday seasons, etc to get the numbers down to where we want them.
