I am looking to upgrade my sleep system for warmer months. I have a system I use for winter camping which is the following:
-double wall tent + footprint
-closed cell pad + neoair xlite
- 20 degree down bag (liner if needed)
This works well for winter and colder months, but I want to lighten it up and possibly attempt a floorless, trekking pole style tent. I have looked at tents such as the Nemo spike, Kuiu ultra 1p, and kifaru paratarp. I will continue to use my double wall in winter, so I don't need a tent with a stove option.
I have two main questions:
1) If you go floorless, how do you handle protecting your air pad?
2) Will I regret using a down bag?
Thanks!
