Been all over the board on where I wanted to go next year for my out of state trip. Think I'm going to keep building in CO / WY and try and get an OTC mule deer hunt in Montana for my 15 year old brother in law and myself. He's a farm kid, he's tough, not too worried about him.

We have it narrowed down to 704 or 705. We'll be truck camping in mid November. Weather gets too nasty guess we'll try and find a motel probably. 704 looks to have had some good fires in the last few years giving it the slight edge currently. 705 is slightly closer to us (Kansas).

Any thought on either of these units? We are after a good representative buck, nothing crazy.

Anything specifics I need to do differently for a youth tag? Any price break?

Any upland bird opportunities?

Thanks in advanced. Feel free to DM me if you'd prefer to keep it off public boards.

I believe you would need to draw a tag first, and then he can get a tag.

Looks like they are still OTC with no set quota. Not sure how the sponsorship would work though if he's your brother in law. I believe he could apply for the standard combo deer tag vs the youth sponsored.
