Is there a way to identify a dry pronghorn doe?

The past 3 years, I have been hunting the early archery season for pronghorn. Several times I have seen fawns still nursing in September. While my current hunts have been focused on bucks, the tag is either sex and I would consider shooting a doe if given a good shot opportunity. The possibility of a Wyoming rifle doe hunt has been on my mind too.

I don't want to shoot a doe with an unweaned fawn. Is there any visible characteristic of a doe that doesn't have a fawn? I know they're not always right by their mother's side.

they look more well rested and less grumpy than the ones with kids

haha. I'll keep an eye out for the relaxed ones then.

Topgun, I haven't seen pronghorns with spots, in person or in photos.

Either way, I'll likely limit myself to bucks during archery and if I apply in Wyoming, try for a later hunt.

Its not hard, in particular if you're sitting water in a blind.

Just watch them for a while and you'll be able to tell which ones have fawns and which don't.

I quit shooting doe antelope several years ago, but when I did, I always picked out does without fawns.
