Anyone ever make a boat fuel tank ?

Anyone make there own ?
I know I should use small tank in the waterbug ( airboat) 'couse of weight.
BUT
I feel I need more range.
I think 15 gallons.
I plan on making one up towards the front.
It's a very "Custom" shape.
I'm thinking Fiberglass.
Did a lot of research, looks like normal Epoxy resin and glass will not Hold ethanol gasoline.
But Vinylester resin should.
What do think?

Vinyl Ester Resin should work. This product has a better description for use application.

Built a jon boat when I was a kid but never a tank. Think I would go sheet metal if I was going to give it a try.

You need to make sure that the fiberglass resin you choose has a UL certification for use with methanol / ethanol blends of fuels. These types of resins are used in the petroleum industry for manufacturing underground containment vessels.

I found a new steel tank that with a little "Body Work" on the tank, I think I can make it work.
It's for a jeep Cj. 15 gal $48 and free shipping.
That's cheaper then I can make it.

BUY IT, and look around for aluminum tanks also they are light and often times can be cheap.

Got my fuel tank today.
It's new and for an old Cj. jeep.
Made out of steel and only weighs 7 pounds, 15 gal.
I think it will work out very well.
It has fuel take outs on top as well as a tube to vent the tank.
I'm going to adapt My Snowmobile filler cap and fuel gauge, just a float and indicator, to fit in the top where the Car fuel pump would be.
I wish the front portion was an inch thinner.
There are no baffles in that part of the tank.
Think I could slowly crush it down an inch or two?
I was thinking a 3/4" piece of plywood and lower the truck on to it
To make a slight "Taper" to the front 4" of the tank...
