Going over some maps for a 2019 mule deer hunt. Correct me if im wrong but I think national forrest is all public hunting?

All federal and state land in Wyoming is open to hunting, although the designated Wilderness areas in Wyoming (which are portions of the NF) require a guide for nonresidents.

It doesn't have to be a paid guide though, a resident guide would suffice. Any resident tag holder can pick up a resident guide license free of charge and guide a NR with the same tag. But yes, NF is open to public along with BLM and certain sections of State ground. You can camp on the NF as well, there's usually a restriction on how long you can camp in one spot.

Also note that just because there is a road into public land doesn't mean you can legally drive that road. There are numerous areas where the only road access to public land is locked because it is privately owned. Your best bet is to go to the website of the county in which you are looking to hunt and getting a map of the public roads in that county. You find this issue more frequently when looking to access state and BLM land but it does happen with NF land.

This is probably the most frustrating thing about e-scouting WY.
