I was going to do a few write ups and share some pictures of some of my hunts throughout the fall but never got around to it. I hunted 4 states this year and put a lot of miles on the truck as usual. I'm very grateful for my health and to be able to share some great experiences with my dad and others this past fall. We made some fantastic memories and our freezers are full for another year! Already looking forward to 2018  Here are a few snaps:

In August, on my first stalk of the year, I was able to arrow this guy in Montana. He had a weird growth on his left horn that looked busted but was actually just how it grew. Cool buck.

A couple weeks later I was able to arrow this guy on opening day of the ND archery season. It was 115 degrees warmer this day than it was the day I filled my archery tag in 2016.

October was all Antelope. Both my dad and I had WY rifle tags and he also had a MT rifle tag. We weren't able to make it to MT until the weekend before Halloween and we only had a day and a half to hunt. We brought my nephews on their first big game hunt and they got to watch their grandpa make a successful stalk on a buck. Unfortunately, the buck had shed one of his horns earlier that day but we could care less. A cooler full of meat and spending time with my nephews on the public lands of MT was what we went for.

November came and I headed 20+ hours away to Nevada for my Elk hunt. It was the toughest hunt yet the best experience of my life. There is a lot easier places to hunt in NV but I wanted the wilderness experience. Nevada is just an incredible place. I also met some of the most selfless people I've ever met along the journey (including a couple fellow hunt talkers) which made it even better.

After my elk hunt, we had a couple of deer tags to fill back in ND so we went out the second weekend of the season and were able fill our tags.

Good luck to everyone in the upcoming 2018 draws!

Nice critters! I wish I had 1/2 your skill in capturing quality photos, it's obvious you put a lot of effort into proper documenting your hunts.

What a fantastic thread, year, and experience!
Congrats to you on a great year and thank you for sharing it with us!
