Is it possible to simply buy a point during the application period in Utah? For some reason I cannot find this anywhere. If so, do you know the cost of only the point?

Yes, I think it's $10, but you must the $65 hunting license.

When you buy the hunting license it is good for 365 days. So if you buy it late this year and apply for points then you should be able to use the same license next year as long as you apply while your license is valid.
