I have a few hunts in addition to my MT mainstays:

ID: Elk/Mule Deer.
WA: Roosevelt Elk in November
WY: Antelope in September
UT: Cutthroat Slam in July

Who knows what other draws will come my way, probably none. I enjoy this time as its 17 degrees outside and I can do all my planning from the warm inside. The dream of what may come and the possibilities of next year all play out in my mind before they happen.

My application strategy...

WY- same approach as jryoung
CO- mule deer if I draw
MT- bonus point only
KS- Possible, depending on hunting partner situation and new job PTO debacle
OK or TX- hogs if I can get a few others to tag along
Bonus trip before my end of enlistment--Canada Fly in fishing trip in June

MT: elk
MT: deer
MT: antelope

Going out of state is generally more than I can afford. If I thought I could scrape it together, I'd apply for Mountain Goat in Idaho every year.

I put in for and keep building points in Montana every year for moose, sheep, and goat. I might draw one when I'm about 86.

AK- sheep x2, Caribou and moose. Maybe grizzly if I find one I want in the right spot.

MT- deer/elk maybe
CO-deer maybe
AK-blacktails maybe

1. WY Antelope is my main goal for 2018
2. Points in WY, MT, CO for elk.
3. CO otc elk is a possibility.
4. Not much planing needed, KS deer.
5. My Hail Mary is KS elk as always.

My main goal this year is a mule deer. I have 2 points in CO and 1 in WY. Still doing my planning.

Then here in NZ my main goal is a red stag, along with the usual tahr, chamois, sika hunts.

1. CO goose this winter....hopefully
2. KY Whitetails at a Army buddies place
3. CO second season-tags as drawn, probably buck and bull (might even consider another bear tag ;) )
4. Super surprise might be cooking with Cush....
5. Anything I can scrounge up

WY-Antelope hunt plus elk/deer points
NM- Put in for elk and antelope draw
CO- Points for deer and elk

Wyoming antelope is my only for sure out of state hunt for next year New Mexico is always a long shot but I guess I have as good of a chance as the next guy. Along with my usual Oklahoma hunts deer, turkey, hogs, dove, waterfowl, and small game.

Wyoming Mule Deer (main objective)
New Mexico Elk draw-hard to draw units only
Points for elk/antelope in WY
Points in Montana elk/deer
Maine Moose powerball
Kentucky elk powerball

All contingent on a healthy baby #2 for my wife and I in July...:)

Florida pigs in January
South Dakota turkeys in May
Wisconsin bear in September
South Dakota archery deer in October
Kansas deer in December

Nv for everything they offer! Just like every other year. Applying for tags might as well be a mortgage payment.

Montana- Elk Hunt (pending draw of General NR tag) and Elk Point & Deer Point
Wyoming- Points Elk/Deer/Antelope
Arizona- Elk Point
Colorado- Deer Point
New Mexico- Might apply for hunt in the Sabinoso for Elk. I figured it won't ever be as good as it will be this year. I can't be the only one who feels this way.

Anyone else considering applying for this area? I hear there aren't many elk out there but the ones they have can be big.

Has anyone heard how many tags will be allotted or what's seasons will occur there? I haven't been able to find much since online.

Texas- Deer hunting. This is my home state so the bulk of my hunting will happen here. Specifically North East TX

I may be mistaken, but I don't think there is an elk season in the Sabinoso

I’ve 15 moose points in my home state of Colorado....I ihope I draw before I get too old.
Elk, Archery this year since I am going to retire and will have plaenty of time, and of course a B list unit elk too.
Should draw deer this year.
Pronghorn, yep, keep on applying and maybe go to Wyoming for a doe.

NM Muzzleloader Elk is on our radar..Colorado is fallback or secondary.

Texas Whitetails, hogs, Turkey, and perhaps a few exotics this coming spring.

I've got to get to Montana someday for birds with a few good people up that way.
