Hello all,

I'm looking to upgrade my GPS unit. Ive narrowed it down to these two:

Garmin GPSMAP 64 St
Garmin Oregon 650t

Any thoughts or opinions will be appreciated. Thanks,
pr

Well if you are going between those two, I'd tell you to get the Oregon, but drop down to the 600 if its cheaper and just throw in the OnXMaps chip. Don't worry about paying for Garmin's topo.

Since you said any thoughts, I'd tell you to just download the OnX App and use that. Far cheaper, and all I used this past season in 45+ days of hunting. I sold my GPS not long after.

Have used the 650T for a couple years now and I have no regrets and would buy again. I would also do as 406LIFE suggested and get the 650 if you plan to get the Onx chip (although you can add the chip to either units). I purchased the 650t because it was on sale and less expensive than the 650.

I owned the 62 and 64 series before upgrading to the 650t. You will find the 650t much quicker/easier to navigate.

If you are thinking a larger screen would be better for you, take a look at the Montana version.

you already have the phone I assume. I agree with 406LIFE...get On X Maps!

Meaning all of the phone issues (well documented) have now been resolved?

Regardless, I would still want to use a dedicated GPS but that's just me.

I had the s7 Edge and the Note 8. Zero issues from me.

Thank you all for the replies. I ended up buying the Garmin Oregon 650t.

I believe I got a good deal on it. I needed an upgrade for sure.
