Jquigley and I met up in the easter sierra in search of ursus americanus. Sadly this was my first trip to hunt the eastern sierra and I'm dissapointed in myself for not coming sooner. I guess it's time to draw an X zone tag.
Quigley brought his new trailer and cooked me breakfast.

Upon the first sunrise I was perplexed that we weren't hunting elk somewhere in Colorado.

We wandered around the hills looking for fresh sign and food sources. We found a thick, I mean thick patch of pinyon with a fresh track, but navigation was pretty much impossible so we perched on a high point hoping we could draw a bear out. Instead we blew a distress call and laughed at each other.
We also made sure we had the latest in technical gear.

The views were great, the country fantastic, but 48 hours to hunt makes it a bit tough.

We were near MWTC so when we got bored, we watched helicopters....err planes. And picked up some trash.
