Snow/road conditions in the Bitteroot

My Father in Laws ashes were spread up on the mountain, Lost Horse lookout area. Im thinking about heading up there in the morning for a quick visit and hike up the hill. Just curious if anybody from the area knows where Im talking about and could tell me about how deep the snow is and how the roads are? Thanks in advance. Never hunted up there but I need a change of scenery!

I've not been up there recently. But the show load seems to be light. Idk how far up you want to go, but ID think you'd be ok.

Bring chains. Some roads have been travelled so much it looks like a zamboni went over them. A little rain and warm temps like we've had and things get interesting. I had to loan chains to a guy last weekend that was pretty puckered up. Mostly he lacked mountain experience. Wish people like that would stay home. Have a safe trip. mtmuley

Thanks for the road tips. Almost put the chains on but made it up without. Gonna do some more hiking up there in the summer for sure.
