The CPW Commission will consider a proposal at their November 16 meeting to modify the limited license application process to only charge application fees at the time the applications are submitted, similar to AZ, UT, and other states. In addition, they will consider allowing NR the ability to apply for sheep, moose, and mountain goat by phone and online. The issue paper can be found on page 7 at this link.

I believe MT made this switch a couple of years ago. Can anyone point me in the direction of statistics that show how that change affected application rates?

Thanks for the link Oak. I would bet that we would probably see apps go up. One question I always had, does CPW generate interest on tag fees that are sitting in the pre draw limbo? I would be curious to see if the extra generated in tag fees is greater than this amount.

The link states the interest generates about $140,000.

Oh that's interesting. At the funding the future meeting, we were told flat out they were not allowed to make interest of of the held cash.

Great, now I have to be a skeptic of CPW, too.
