I recently got a ford pickup that has factory navigation in it. I know it can take a sd card that's how it gets the updated streets and such. Can I put my OnX chip in there??

This would probably be a good question to ask in the OnX questions sticky thread. Or consult with Ford. Or just try it.

I thought about trying it, but will wait till after season. I'd hate for something to happen to my chip ha. Thought id just see if someone had experience with it

Generally in-vehicle factory GPS units only have SD slots for manufacturer specific updates. The onXmaps chips are only designed to be compatible with Garmin GPS units. If you have a Garmin nuvi navigation unit they are apparently compatible with the onXmaps chip according to their website.

oh ok I get what your saying now. That makes sense. Its not a big deal, just crossed my mind as I was driving around today that it would be pretty handy at times just to have it up on the screen. Thanks guys
