Best 7mm08HT for under $750?

I'll third the Weatherby vanguard... I picked up one of the "range certified" (comes with Bell & Carson stock - pillar bedded) for ~$900 CDN. The action is made by Howa to Weatherby's specs and the stock is great for the money - waaaaaaay better than the normal Vanguard.

Here is Hunting Princess' rig......Howa 1500 SA barreled action(bought through Matt LSI), Boyd's thumbhole stock, and Vortex Crossfire in 3x9x40........All in, including gunsmithing, under $700

I think finding the perfect rifle in a given price range is really a personal choice. What one guy likes, another won't. Personally I think a lot of manufacturers in the sub $1000 range have really gone cheap. Cheap plastic stocks, two piece bolts, plastic parts, etc, etc. And the manufacturers have even used pretty good marketing to convince the shooting public that these features are desirable. I think that in the price range that this OP mentioned its tough to beat Howa and the Weatherby Vanguard. I don't like the Hogue stock on the Howa. And I think the safeties seem a bit flimsy. But that is just my personal opinion. But again what one man likes another one despises.

Here’s one that I got at sportsman’s for $399. Mounts and rings were $50. Then $350 for a vortex hslr scope. Can’t beat that for $800.

Here’s a 3 shot group at 100 with cheap Hornady whitetail 139 grain factory loads. Now she’s broke in and it’s time to get some loads going. Starting with RL17 and 150 grain eldx pills. I bet I don’t have to mess around too long to get one that works.

With that ammo that is super impressive. This group was a handloaded group with 140 gr nolser bt at 100 yards.
