I think the issue was hijacking the OP's intent for the thread. Creating a "10 reasons Vortex sucks" thread would be the place to vent that out.

I'm always glad to hear about a good warranty and good customer service. I have some $3,000 Zeiss binocs that totally failed on me last year and it took several months to get them back and cost me a fortune to send them in for warranty repair since I had to send them to Germany. I got these as a gift but would never purchase another Zeiss product based on my experience.
