I've only started hunting about 4 years ago. Didn't grow up in a family that have anyone that really hunted. But ive always loved the outdoors and back country and always had an interest in hunting. Then I got married and my father in law has done a lot of hunting took me on my first hunt for caribou. Thats all it took to get me hooked on hunting. Now I've been making it my goal to learn as much as possible about different animals and hunts. I definitely feel lucky to be in Alaska and have so many opportunities for hunting. But there is also the challenge for being new is learning where to go since hunting spots and areas are so secretive. well I hope to learn some from this forum and hopfully theres some more alaskan hunters on here too.
