I needed a day in my safe space, so I took my bear tag and the 6.5 man bun for a walk.

I love sumac in the fall.

Scenery, Henry’s Rock is in the distance.

This basin was the site of a YNPesque rutfest. Elk everywhere.

A sow with twins walked through this saddle and I counted coup on her.

Late in the day I saw a bear below me. I dumped 1200 feet, then couldn’t find the bear in the creek bottom. Gotta go over this to get to the truck.

It is amazing how many incredible "scenery" shots I see from those of us regular Joes just out enjoying it.....related to what Cush said, imagine all the sorry souls out there who will never experience something like this for themselves.

Your caloric replacement for that little stroll is gonna be more than a #1 combo supersized with a Blizzard.

I have come to believe that you are part mountain goat and a glutton for elevation punishment......and thanks for the beautiful day trip story well told.

Thanks for sharing, it has got to be a different feel compared to your hikes in that country from the year previous. Glad you could get out.
