I'm relatively new to the Bozeman area and would love to find a black bear this fall. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to hunt let alone scout for berry patches. And the posts that I've read in this forum about finding fall black bear aren't very specific about where to find berries other than creek bottoms. Does anyone have any advice on where to find ripe berry patches in late Sept/early Oct (i.e. north/south slope, typical elevation, other vegetation, etc.)?

Any advice to get me headed in the right direction is much appreciated!

I'd be blowing cow calls and bugles till one found me. Might be a griz, but that's part of the adventure.
