Got him last year on 9/30 around 9,500'
I was up on the opener and they still hadn't completely shed all their old hair yet. My brother got one a few years earlier in the same unit on 10/25, and his hair was definitely longer, but by 9/30, they were looking pretty good.

So, when I first went looking for the goats, I brought home a stuffed one for my 3-yr old. He's now 4, and decided one day to add his to the "mount"...It's been there for a month and he hasn't asked for it back...

Super! IMO mountain goats make stupendous full body mounts. That one is very well done. Congrats.
 
Very nice. It looks like a goat! Reading your thread again I sure recognized a lot of the pictures from my hike earlier this month!

I hope mine turns out as good as yours. I guess I need to call my taxidermist, it's coming up on 3 years now since I shot mine.
