Greetings to you all from the South Lake Tahoe, CA area. Zone D-5 is a staple and X-8 is the closest draw. Contemplating an X-12 draw next year to mix it up. I've hunted desolation during archery thus far, but no luck. Looking forward to spending time here, thanks!

I mostly hunted D4 in the foothills, but that was 3 decades ago, a lot has changed.

Welcome! I too am fairly new here and from Northern Calif. I'm more north up in Plumas-Lassen Co's but it's awful nice were you're at too. Not that it will greatly help with your hunts now but years ago, i camped and hunted with friends several times off a road headed south, right out of the little town of Kyburz on I-50. We got some nice bucks opening weekends outa that country, up a bit and away from the roads, back then.
