The Howa 1500 series has caught my eye. For a next rifle I'm considering the 7mm remington mag. I like the pictures / videos of the green stock with stainless barrel.

I have not held one of these yet. How are they for weight and packing around hiking for a day.

Anybody have one in 7mag they'd like to comment about?

Good shooting rifles...not a lightweight, like pointer said above.

A little bit of weight in a 7 mag isn't a bad thing. Ultra-light rifles are more difficult for me to shoot accurately.

I've got a 1500 with the Hogue stock in 30-06. I love it!! I've only shot Fusions out of it so far, but it's shooting good groups at 100. I'm looking forward to shooting the 165 grain Nosler handloads. It's going to be my go-to rifle this fall.

I have an older model 1500 in 7RM that is wood/blued. it is very accurate, but mine is heavy. I haven't weighed it, but with the scope it is pushing 10#. Shoots lights out 1/2 MOA with 139 gr GMX handloads. let me know if you have any other questions I can try to answer.
