I'm from California, hunting for 30+ yrs. First time hunting out of state to Wyoming. My question is validating your harvest. Is it mandatory? Do I have to go find a warden to validate my game?

Cut out the date and month on the license, sign it, then attach to carcass immediately. done

If on pvt/walk-in/hma, sign and drop the LO portion in the box at the entrance to the property.

make sure you have the conservation stamp (printed out at home) signed and with your licenses.
Also, there are 3 places to sign your license/carcass tag;
1, the license portion before you hit the field,
2, the carcass tag at time of take,
3, the LO coupon at time of take if on pvt/walk-in/hma.

The only way your have to have your game checked is if you pass a check station while out and about or traveling to or from your hunting area.
Hunters must stop even if no game has been taken.
