Hello from Atlanta, GA!
I joined HT last fall shortly after returning from my first elk hunt. I don't post or do much on the social media scene, so please don't let my low post count scare you away.
I'm ashamed to say last year's hunt was guided, but I used the time to learn and figure out if I had what it took to hunt the high & back country. That hunt resulted in a super nice 5x5 ending up in my freezer. Needless to say, it sparked an addiction, but I no longer want to rely on a guide. Drop hunts are ok, but I want to chase 'em myself instead of "let's go here, or there" from the guide.
All of my whitetail hunting buddies are too afraid to tackle a back country hunt, so I'm on the lookout for some partners for safety and sharing knowledge. I've e-scouted the heck out of Unit 81, so I have an inkling and a starting plan. Touch base so I can begin to get to know some of you, and work my way into a good group to tackle the wilderness.
