So without getting too deep into why I may be sleeping on the couch for the next little bit... I was down at the bow shop today with my 13 year-old daughter ordering some limbs for her mother's Carbon Rose, which she is inheriting. She shot it exceedingly well, I might add. Her mom shoots 60lb limbs, she shot the 40's maxed out, but I think she is more comfortable at 35 so we ordered some 40's. The shop was great with her today, as these guys always are.

Anyhoo, I've been a Hoyt guy for a little bit, the last Bowtech I shot was an RPM360 that I didn't dislike other than the grip. Today I did the inevitable fondling of the new bows and got to shooting this new Reign 6. I have to say, it's a phenomenal bow. I thought the flip disk thing would be gimmicky but it really worked as advertised. The "performance" setting was similar in cycle and valley to my 2015 Nitrum Turbo, which I would describe in a word as "angry", not something I feel most of us would want to hunt with. But the comfort setting was what I would describe as Elite-ish. Cavernous valley, and very comfortable at full draw. You could get away with a little more draw weight for sure and still have the comfort factor to wait out an uncooperative buck. It continues to amaze me just how much things improve year-over-year. I used to subscribe to the ideology that a bow with a single cam set for all draw lengths couldn't possibly work as well as one with draw specific cams and modules, but that was flipped on its head today. All this at $1099CAD, which is a solid $300 less than a Pro Defiant, I may need to jump ship. When I told this story to the missus, she suggested that I may sell my current bow and buy my 2003 Hoyt MagnaTec back, and that I was an unappreciative prick. I'll keep working on it... ;-)
