Does anyone know of a good book that gets into detail about mountain winds? Thanks

Well, all I know about mountain wind is thermals. Is there any material out there that talks about more then just thermals such as the things you just mentioned (predominate directions and swirls)?

I think it's pretty terrain specific. Swirls happen all the time the wind isn't really steady. Windicator is your friend. But to answer your question, you know of no book sry

Think about it like water; flows to the path of least resistance, swirls/edies n such when it meets resistance; canyons/cliffs/saddles/etc. Then throw in the time of day coupled w/ heating/cooling; when it heats up airs rises, when it cools down air falls.
