Selway zone Idaho

Looking for help on hunting the Selway zone late season 11-1-17 / 11-11-17. I'm not asking for secret spots I just don't know were to start. I have been looking at unit 17 but we are packing in on foot. I have been looking on onxmaps just can't pin down and area any help on the Selway zone would be greatly appreciated

Ive only been up there once last year. But it looked to me like 16A would be the best on foot. look for the burns.

I took my little brother up there for whitetail. I didn't see much elk sign in 17. I saw a few smaller bulls in 16a down around the water. It's pretty thick country up there. Definitely stick to the burns or the sporadic open meadows.

Any updates on the selway fires?

Looks like access is extremely limited right now.

I was planning on chasing elk in 16a but it looks like almost the entire unit is closed off.
