I've been doing my google earth research non stop the last month for Colorado unit 37 and 371 and have narrowed my initial 30 possible sites down to 15. We will be hunting 2nd rifle season (oct 20-26 ish). My question is regarding elevation and weather-- the Colorado hunting atlas shows migration/summer/winter ranges. That time of year in the 8-12k ft elevation range, which should I be looking at? I'm not sure what time of year is considered winter around here and when the deer start using those migration corridors. Can anyone shed some light on their experience? Is 10-12k too high for that time of year? Anyone familiar with those units that could help me narrow a few of these sites down would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
