Bear in The Bob

Anybody fall bear hunt the Bob? Ill be heading in mid September for 10-20 days to hunt bear, deer and elk. I've heard it may be the best place in the lower 48 for a color phase bear. Just wondering if I should be looking high or in the drainages? Not looking for any exact areas. Just a general amount of knowledge.

Make very sure you know the difference between Grizzly and Black bear species.

Pm me if you have any specific questions. The bob is a huge place and has different terrain depending on where you are.

I lived in the Flathead Valley for three years stationed in the service. I have never seen so many bears anywhere before or after. I've lived in Oregon well over 50 yrs and only ever saw one bear. Everyone has always told me Oregon was a great state for bear hunting. Couldn't prove it by me! Oh, saw one one time up in Alaska I was in a brush plane flying in to a glacier to look for Ptarmigan!
