My dad is pushing 70 and wants to shoot an elk in the worst way. We live in Western Montana so we've got that going for us. But there's no way he could hike into where I backcountry hunt.
Vietnam and old age are taking a toll. He can still get out and deer hunt on the prairie and do some walking. But I don't know where I could take him in somewhat easy walking. Even if for a cow he'd be tickled. The shoulder hunts are a joke and just as hard as backcountry from what I experienced.
