I sprayed down all of my first line gear and my pack with permethrin. I'm like Jezz, I'll take on a bear before I want any of those diseases.

I’m more paranoid about ticks than about anything in the woods so I treat everything other than my underwear and hat. I’ve never run across any issues with merino or synthetics, even DWR coated gear. I used Sawyer primarily but it just gets expensive after s while. I ended up going with Martins concentrate and diluted it to .5% and it’s been just as effective. If you ever do concentrate, look out for some of them with petroleum distillates since they can have an odor to them. Make sure to hit your boots too!

Fortunately it is not an issue in Colorado after spring is over.
